Alright, time to update the blog. Here’s some recent stuff, along with a video piece I did earlier this week. Hopefully the link works fine, until I can get my own Flash compressed copy (does Blogger support posting of SWF’s or FLV’s, without a player?).
If anybody has experience with that, do share.
Directly above the video is the photo that ran on B1 (thankfully, because it promoted the video) as a standalone.
Thanks.

be forewarned, the following link may cause motion-sickness or, in extreme cases, nausea (he talks fast, and that comes across his blog): Bill Oram’s Austin blog
he’s another intern at the Statesman. he’s a talented sportswriter, and great guy to boot. his blog is hilarious.
i think i need to take a moment to thank Rebecca McEntee and Nell Carroll, photo editors at the Statesman. Rebecca is redefining ‘complete-captioning’ for me, making me a better journalist. also, i’m trusting my instincts (‘gut’ looked pretty bad typed out) a bit more by seeing what Nell ends up ‘pinking’ in Photo Mechanic.
Gracias to both, and Alecia (the Statesman’s photo researcher) for a;; help related to photo (having in-laws in Albuquerque). keep the work coming…

i covered something today for “This is Austin” again (shooting these assignments has been the best way for me to see different parts of the city), and all went smooth. the agency, Any Baby Can, seemed to be made up of some pretty amazing people doing great work (website is www.abcaus.org). when i went, they were running their literacy class for Spanish speakers.
it was fun, and i got to photograph the cutest kid (outside of the Westside and South Valley of Albuquerque, where my nieces and nephews are, of course

, and it should run in the yearly ‘TIA’ issue.
check back soon… i will be updating. but tomorrow, i get my car fixed. much thanks to Jay Godwin, photo director extraordinaire, who set me up with a reputable mechanic.
and thanks to disciple-of-light Rudy Gonzalez who gave me tips for the studio.
