hi all. here’s a few photos from last week — with some more recent photos to come soon…hello weekend! Monday is my “Friday,” my last day of work before my days off, so i feel a little guilty being in such a TGIF mentality. i just hope i get weekend weather — it threatened to snow here a couple times last week.

enjoy the photos.

…Lindsay Pierce, my co-worker,  is leaving next month! sad stuff, considering she really added to my excitement for coming to work here  (well, that and the obvious ‘i need a job’ part).
so, hopefully that means a job will open up here for someone new, and i’ll get to work with yet another talented photojournalist. after all, it’s generally staffed as a two-photographer paper (with third person — an intern — in the summer).
well, here are some photos from April. i’m keeping pretty busy, shooting several things a day and having fun doing it.

here’s a few more to add to my last photo post.

CAUTION!!!

this post seems extremely long, but it’s all photos. I guess that’s not really caution-worthy — false alarm.
here’s some work from the first week, and today. i love it. people actually go to the website here (www.statesman.com), and often. so far so good, except for my car breaking! not so bad, it’s probably the CV joint (i hear), and it’s a cheap (relatively) fix.

finally! i’m feeling like things are starting to click a little more starting today.
i think i’m starting to warm up a bit more to stills again. i’d like to think i work hard at what i do and, as with anything, if you haven’t done something for awhile, it can be rough going when you start up again. BUT WAIT! let not talk too soon.

here is the first spot event i covered. thanks to Jay Janner for giving me something to do during a lull in the day.
i arrived toward the end of the TV station’s coverage, and found it to be difficult to find a frame that would capture the event. i ended up liking the following photo best, and that ran online as a ‘Photos of the Day’ photo. the photo after that, of the two officers talking, is what ran in the paper. it definitely is more newsy, but i think i like the first photo better.
